2005-2015 Toyota Tacoma Hood Hinge Light Bracket Part Number 10213

Verify that all parts shown in the picture are present.

The Light Mounts require the hood hinge bolts to be loosened. The hood hinge is slotted to allow hood alignment. If the hood is improperly aligned, the hood will not open properly and may become stuck closed. Be careful to make sure the hood stays in position during the install.

In order to maintain hood alignment, either measure the panel gaps on each side of the hood, mark the hood hinges on the underside of the hood, or use painters tape to mark the hood location as shown.

On the right side hood hinge there is a washer line clip that needs to be removed to access the bolt head. Remove this from the hinge.

It is easiest to install the lights on the brackets before installing the brackets on the vehicle.

Follow installation instructions provided by the light manufacturer.

The left bracket is shown in the image. The bend on the brackets goes 'up', with the slots facing the outside of the vehicle. (Bracket shown without light for clarity).

Install the mounts one side at a time. Loosen the hood hinge bolts with a 12mm socket or wrench, do not completely remove.

With the mounts loose, feed the bracket with light from the windshield side carefully under the open hood, and slide the bracket in between the bolt heads and the hinge. You may have to squeeze the hood to the hinge with one hand while sliding the bracket in with the other hand.

Snug the 12mm bolts so that the hood can still be moved if pushed on.

Carefully close the hood, noting the alignment marks compared to the starting position.

Push on the hood to re-align it properly, then open it back up carefully and tighten the hinge bolts.

If the hood does get jammed, a long flathead screwdriver can be used to push up on the latching loop on the front of the hood through the grill.

Factory torque spec is 10 lb-ft [13 Nm].

Verify the lights do not hit the windshield with the hood open, if they do and you choose to continue to use the lights you may have to modify the hood strut to be shorter.

Loosen the hood hinge bolts, place the light bracket on, and then snug the bolts.

Verify hood alignment, then torque hood hardware.

After torquing hood mounting hardware, re-install the washer hose clip.

Wire lights following wiring instructions provided by the light manufacturer.

Aim the lights as desired and torque light mounting hardware.
