If the fairlead mount is replacing an existing one, remove the existing mount.

If the fairlead mount is going in a new installation, verify that the hardware to be used is adequate length. The winch fairlead mount is 3/16" thick.

The fairlead and winch mounting hardware should be long enough to fully pass through the nuts and have at least a thread showing beyond the top of the nut.

Attach the fairlead to the Fairlead Mount. Make sure to center the fairlead opening on the Fairlead Mount so that the cable or rope cannot rub on the edges of the Fairlead Mount.

Torque fairlead hardware to manufacturer's specifications.

Set the Fairlead Mounting Plate over the appropriate mounting holes in the bumper.

Set the winch on top of the Fairlead Mounting Plate.

Make sure the Fairlead Mount is centered and correctly positioned and not too close to the winch or any other components.

Make sure the winch is centered and correctly positioned and will not interfere with any other components.

With everything correctly positioned, torque winch mounting hardware to manufacturer's specifications.

Route the winch cable or rope through the fairlead fount and fairlead.

Installation is complete!
With any modified vehicle, or any vehicle used offroad, it is a good idea to check bolt torques periodically and visually inspect components regularly.
